Aims and Objectives of the Syllabus

The WAEC Animal Husbandry syllabus is designed to help students acquire knowledge and skills in:

• Basic animal production practices such as feeding, housing, pest and disease control.
• The efficient and effective management of animal enterprises.
• The application of environmentally friendly practices to sustain production.
• The identification of basic problems hindering the improvement of the Animal Industry.

WAEC Animal Husbandry Examination Scheme

The examination consists of three papers, Papers 1, 2, and 3, all of which must be taken. Papers 1 and 2 will be a composite paper taken at one sitting.

Paper 1: Objective Test

• Format: 50 multiple-choice questions.
• Duration: 1 hour.
• Marks: 50 marks.

Paper 2: Essay Test

• Format: Six essay-type questions.
• Questions to Answer: Four questions.
• Duration: 2 hours.
• Marks: 80 marks.

Paper 3: Practical / Alternative to Practical

• Format: Four questions, all of which must be answered.
• Duration: 2 hours.
• Marks: 60 marks.
• Note: This is a practical paper for school candidates and a test of practical for private candidates.
