Dear Sir/Ma,

Request for Improved Security Measures in Our School

I write to respectfully draw your attention to the urgent need for improved security in our school premises. As a concerned SS3 student and a representative of my classmates, I have observed some security lapses that put both students and staff at risk.

Firstly, the school fence is incomplete, and this has allowed strangers to enter the compound at will. On several occasions, unknown persons have walked freely into the school without being questioned. Completing the fencing of the school would reduce this risk and keep unauthorized persons out.

Secondly, there is no security guard at the main gate. While we appreciate the effort of our staff, it is not safe to rely solely on teachers to manage entry and exit. We suggest the school employ trained security personnel who can monitor movements and prevent unwanted visitors.

Thirdly, the lack of functional CCTV cameras in strategic areas makes it difficult to monitor suspicious activities. If security cameras are installed in corridors, exam halls, and entry points, it will serve as both a preventive and investigative tool in case of any incident.

We also recommend that students be issued ID cards, and a visitors’ register should be introduced at the gate to track who enters and leaves the premises during school hours.

I believe that taking these steps will create a safer and more conducive environment for learning and teaching. I trust that you will treat this matter with urgency, as the safety of everyone in the school should be a top priority.
